Powerhouse!
A few days ago when I posted a picture of 'The Mansions', http://lincolneye.blogspot.com.au/ noticed the corner of this beautiful French Renaissance Style building. This is the home of the Queensland Parliament, the present building started in 1864, and is Australia's only unicameral State Parliament Here in Queensland we are coming into the last week of electioneering for the state government. Next Saturday it will all be over and done with and we will have either a new government or the current one will be re-elected.

I like this section of the building Al .... Very French... Very posh!
It will be interesting to find out the results of the upcoming elections.
Yes it's a beauty - and nearly always photographed from the same angle and I'm pretty sure you know why - that eyesore of a tower just behind it!
It's a beautiful building Al, as Dianne said, tres French!! Good luck with the elections, are you all organized on who you might vote for?
I agree with Dianne, this would not be out of place in Paris.
Looking forward to following the counting of the ballots next saturday. I am expecting a landslide in everyplace except possibly Ashgrove.
darryl: That ugly building behind Parliament is very ugly...at least there is still this classic view.
Perth Daily & Julie: I really love this French touch to the city, and it certainly reminds me of the Grand Palais in Paris (well, sort of)! This week is turning out to be very dirty politics.
Nice picture of a lovely building. Thanks for the mention too!! I've been a bit busy the last few days, barely time to post, but catching up now and I've replied to your comments on my blog.
