Turn Up The Heat!

As the day came to a close yesterday, I captured this shot of the sun setting behind the gum tree, leaving us with the promise of another scorcher today. However, the gusty warm winds bring the danger of bush fires ever closer. It has been over 7 weeks since we had any rain and today we should see 29c. Have a great Friday and keep cool.

Il Tramonto

As I was dashing out to my night class the other evening, I had a quick look from my balcony and was amazed to see such a lovely sky. At the risk of being late I grabbed the camera and took a few shots. I'm more than pleased with the results of literally a 'point-and-click' photo. By the way, the title of the picture is Italian for sunset...I am learning Italian at my night class!

Coastal Clouds

I don't take part in the 'skywatch' or 'weekend reflections' posts, but I think that this one ticks all the boxes. We have been having some fabulous weather lately, with almost two weeks of near perfect blue skies and plenty of sunshine. As nice as it is, I do like to have some clouds in my pictures to add some interest when taking a scene like this. The other day was perfect when I took my parents on a short 15 min drive to Wynnum. What better than fish and chips, overlooking a view like this?

Blazing Sky

What better way to end the day than sitting on my balcony with a glass of chilled wine and a scene like this? Our run of perfect autumn weather looks like it might be at a temporary break, but I know it will return. Cheers!

Golden Light

Finally back from the Easter break. It's nice to know that you don't have to travel far to feel as if you have really had a change and to re-charge the batteries. The Gold Coast is only 'down the road' from Brisbane and about an hours drive. From the hotel there was this magnificent sunset looking towards the hinterland of the Gold Coast. 

Suburban Sky

Friday has rolled around and the weekend looms. Current weather warnings mean that we might not see a clear sky like this for a few days! Have a great weekend everyone.
