Water Flower

Fountains in the courtyard of the museum taken a while back. There has been a lot of renovation work so I'm not sure if they are still there. I love the way they look like huge dandelions. Time to re-visit.

This is lovely! I really like the tiny detail of the yellow leaves at the base of the image...a particularly nice touch.

In my Google Reader I only saw the top of this photo at first and thought it was a monochrome, then at the bottom a nice little bit of colour. Good capture.

Thanks for your lovely comments. It was just luck that those petals had dropped from a nearby tree and were floating on the pool infront of the fountains. I could so easily have missed them!

Hello Al,
So glad to have discovered your blog (through Brisbane Daily Photo). I love seeing my city anew through others' eyes! Love these. Actually they're at the Queensland Art Gallery which abuts the museum and luckily they're not affected by the construction. I love the vista through the gallery with these at one end, the water mall inside, and through to the pelicans and other water features at the other end. Unfortunately the view through to the pelicans is currently obscured while the gallery is preparing for the upcoming exhibition from the Prado Museum (Spain).

Inner Artist: Thanks for the comment, and welcome to my blog. You are right...these fountains are at the art gallery. Silly me! I really must make another visit there soon.
