Venus (1)

This torpedo-shaped sculpture is Brisbane's newest art installation at Kangaroo Point Park. It is called 'Venus Rising: Out of the Water and into the Light' and is by British artist Wolfgang Buttress. I really love the sleek lines of this 23m stainless steel sculpture. It is made of 100's of rings and polished tubes.

It certainly is a very elegant sculpture Al, beautifully named, rising up into the blue. Also it seems to fit in really well with the city buildings behind!

Thanks Cara. The sculpture was only opened the other week. Stay tuned, more of it to come. And Wolfgang Buttress is a great name, isn't it?

I really love this sculpture, and the location is perfect looking over the city.

Oh those lines are gorgeous! Especially juxtaposed with the geometric angles and lines of the buildings to the left. You've captured it all in a lovely shot.
